Enough to go on

Is this photo enough to go on to identify this creature? I'm assuming its a mollusk of some sort - snail? All I know is that its eyestalks have antennae. That's a handy upgrade.

UPDATE: Booge has discovered that this is a conch. Well done, booge.

I think it's a muppet.

I'm stymied! If it's a mollusk, those are false eyes, I'd bet on it... WEIRD! I must know what this is!

I think that's a queen conch. Here's a picture I found that looks mighty similar.

I agree with Kritter...totally a muppet.

I went to the website that Booge provided, and it looks so much like the one here that I have to agree! The tints are different, but otherwise everything matches up perfectly!

They look like twin sisters!!

The bottom three pics on this page show the eyes in action. Very useful!

Well who the hell would have ever thought... Good job, booge. Here's another site with a few more great pics.

I believe this thing was living on the wall in the beginning of "Labyrinth"

Wow, good call Booge! I started looking at the cone snails, who are related to the conchs but just couldn't find eyes that were even remotely similar. I figured it was one of the predatory snails but couldn't narrow it down. Good invert-sleuthing. ;)
