Easily Amused

I guess you can't expect much from a captive orangutan. In the wild, this dominant male would be swinging through the trees, courting mates, and defending its territory. That's the stuff of life. But here, all he has to work with is a burlap sack. At least he's easily amused.

HA!!! It took me a minute to realize what I was looking at.

Sad he's not able to do his macho male thing in the wild but he seems to be getting into dressing up real purty. Can't do that in the wild...

And speaking of animal attraction...this fellow defines "You sure got a purdy mouth."

I'm loving this guy. I keep coming back because he makes me smile. :)

Actually, the dominant males are way too heavy to swing through the trees much... this opens up an opportunity for small males, with a different reproductive stratagy, to partake in sneaky copulations with females while the dominant male, like this guy, can't get to them due to his size... (says the obnoxiously nerdy primatology student)

Yeah, evolution's not perfect. I was going to say the same thing about this guy being too gynormous to swing throug the trees.
