Ugly Means Ugly

This is one of those days when ugly means ugly. You know, we're taught by our institutions to respect every culture. We're all equal and all that. But that's just not so. This photo is proof. I've got a hard time respecting the culture/people that sponsor something like this.

UPDATE: Here's what Bambi slayer has to say about this:

This is a Louisiana Catahoula Curr, They are taditionally used to hunt Feral hogs and bay them up until the catch dog, that is usually a Pitbull or Pit Mix, catches up with the pack. He will charge head on and catch the boar or pig by the ears or snout. He will hold on until ordered off when the hunters catch up. The catch dog usually wears a collar that can be up to 12" wide to protect him from being cut by the tusks that are razor sharp. This picture was not taken in the woods but at a Hog dog trials, which is a truly barbaric form of entertainment but legal in Louisiana still.

I'm trying really hard to control my response here. Honestly, people need to know that this kind of "Crap" still happens.

I put bull fighting in this same wretched catagory. People can dress it up in culture all they want, it's still wrong!

This is the Heart of Ugly and disgustingly human. :(

Personally, I find all fighting sports barbaric, whether it's boxing or bullfighting. Frankly, I'd like to toss the breeders and "trainers" into an enclosed ring and let the dogs/roosters/horses (yes, horse-fighting -- it's awful), have at 'em. Vicious humans VS. abused animals... I know where I'd put my money and my allegiance.

I've seen a lot of less than beautiful things on this web site, but none as ugly as the people who consider this entertainment. People who torture and kill animals and call it entertainment are the only truly ugly animals. Beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes clear to the bone and these people are bone deep ugly.

The dog's actually a Catahoula Leopard Dog, state dog of Louisiana. I used to have one, a friend bred them, thankfully not for the purpose shown here. The dogs are a hunting and herding breed, wild boars being one of the animals they are used to hunt. Their main method is they gang up on the animal and corner it for the hunter. I'd comment more but not being 100% familiar with what these competions are for I don't want to give false info.
Regardless, I'm not a fan.

I've looked at every picture on this website and never have I seen something so ugly as what I see here. I'm not talking about the animals. They are conditioned and forced to do this. I'm talking about the people behind this, the people responsible for this, and the people who find this entertaining. I think that the punishment for this should fit the crime...take that however you want, but they deserve to be put through exactly what they put these animas through.
Enough said...if I say more I'm just going to get more angry.

all the comments here have put it better than I ever could, it makes me just speechless (typeless?) with rage. I am sometimes ashamed to be human.

I have to agree with everything said here, I find it hard to comprehend how anyone remotely human could put any animal through this. Let alone the people who go and watch.. it is just beyond belief. This is the epitome of true uglyness.

Thats awful. I don't know how some people can live with themselves. How they can sleep at night knowing what they put their animals through.
