The Fates Have Aligned

Everyone say hello to Lucy, our first ever Boston Terrier runt. Her owner, Nichole, would like us to note her ' wandering googlie eyes and "redonkulous" ears.' As Nichole put it, Lucy 'checked her cute gene at the door.'

In an twist of irony, the stuffed animal is an "Ugly Doll" who's official name is "Ugly Dog." The fates have aligned against this doggie, but we love her just the same.

Thanks, Nichole, for sharing your runt with us.

  1. Lucy and her ugly dog toy make a great pair.

I found your blog a couple of weeks ago and have been visiting it ever since. Please, please don't start using words like "redonkulous"... **shudder**...as much as I enjoy seeing the cute critters on C.O., I hate, hate, hate the captions with their silly mis-spelled and made up words! It's like reading baby talk.

With all due respect, the delightfully ugly images you post should be able to stand on their own merit. Your normally dry, witty discriptions are a much better fit for them.

The way I see it, Cindy, the baby-talk goes hand-in-hand with the nature of the images presented. And they can be quite hysterical at times. It's just part of the site culture, I just take it in stride and enjoy the pictures.

Yes, the first thing I thought of too was that the picture contributor is very familiar with CO. I've never heard "redonkulous" anywhere else!

  3. No worries, Cindy. I have neither the inclination nor the ability to use such words.

    Thanks for the compliments!

This site is like cinnamon gum. Sometimes you get a little tired of Tutti-Frutti, so you come here for something a bit spicier. The EEK! factor helps too, of course...

Boston Terriers are cute to me, no matter how bug eyed, humongous tongue'd, snorting, drooling, or crazy they are. It's a face only a mother could love sometimes, but I still think they are cute.

  6. This Boston is CUTE by my standards. They are generally malformed but they've got very cute personalities.

Hey Cindy, in a way I understand but this time our beloved Ill-Tempered Wombat was really just using the wording of the sender-inner.

WELCOME to the BEST LIL' Blog in the Interwebs by-the-way. :D

Please forgive those of us that are also bad spellers for reasons of brain wiring rather than carelessness, not that the baby talk at C.O. is that, particularly.

What is sad is that by Boston Terrier standards, those ears are nowhere near "redonkulous".

And thank you Cindy, I completely agree with you.

This little guy is adorable but my favorite part about this post is Denita TD's tutti frutti/cinnamon gum analogy!! So true.

I love this site and I've learned more from researching the creepoids posted here than I've learned since college. Now I can spew useless information about blob sculpins and naked mole rats at the drop of a hat. Thanks for stimulating my dormant brain cells, Wombat.

Actually, I think that dog is adorable! But I've been a lifelong pug & boston terrier lover.

  11. I have an Ugly Doll named "Ice Bat". I saw them when I was in Florida and thought them terribly cute.

  12. You can get "ugly" animals over at sappymoosetree.com

I recommend the stuffed q-tips or Dennis Made of monster!

  13. Relax on the CO folks. I'm the Nichole of Lucy and Nichole and it seems my sarcasm using the CO coined word "redonkulous" did not translate. Whatev.
