Like most people, I've focused on the lips of the rosy lipped batfish (Ogcocephalus nasutus). But I had never seen one in profile. Check out that proboscis. It's used both as a shovel and a lure for prey. My own proboscis is pretty dull; the only thing it's good for is smelling. But the rosy lipped batfish has a Swiss Army proboscis. I'm a little jealous.

As my mother would say "You aren't leaving the house with that lipstick on! That's hooker red!" Tone it down, fishy! Tone it down! And possibly get a nose job.
Haha, Kit. My mother used the term "floozy" but other than that, word for word. =P
Neat fish though. Why does it have rosy lips? I assume all strange things like that have a purpose.

...and to continue on the "floozy" hooker red lips comments made, my grandmother always said "your lips look like a chicken's butt" when we girls were caught wearing too much red on the lips. To this day, I have no idea what that means but then again, I can't say I've ever really looked at a chicken's butt to know what she meant.
