Computer Monkey

I have to admit it. This picture gave me a moment of existential pause. This scene has played itself out too often in my home. Not that we have a harem of hamadryas baboons (Papio hamadryas) living in our house. How many times have I been pecking away at the computer with the wife and kids looking on, waiting for me to show some YouTube video, or trying to explain why I do a blog about ugly animals.

But you know what this means for me personally? It means that baboons have Internet access now, and it's only a matter of time before they stumble across this blog and read what I've written about them. I'm going to have to go into hiding, get off the grid. Anyone care to take in a blogger-in-hiding?

Thanks for the photo, Ida.

Come to Texas. We have big shotguns and we're not afraid to use them. :-)

What's happen if I give these monkeys my XPS M1530? :D

Come on over here to Chicago! We have a ground level condo. . . and I can cook! Also, we'd be the first couple on the block to have a real live blogger in our living room.

Yep. Good ol' Texas. We carry guns in our cars our cars and shoot trespassers. So make sure you call ahead. *wink*

Why on EARTH would a monkey/ape need a laptop? Are they mail ordering their bananas now? Photoshopping their unsightly behinds? Looking at poor-grammatical english speaking cats?

Hey, you can come to Hilversum any time! We're very openminded here in Holland :)
Though you'd have to take yer own pc/laptop with you, because mine is occupide. All day. By me. No exeptions :P

You're safe for now Raging Wombat. Unless they've got wireless and a pretty hefty battery pack, doesn't look like they're online yet. They're like my Grandma, still playing Solitaire and typing up their Christmas letter.

You are so generous...Texas, Chicago, Holland...

And Sleepydumpling, I hope you're right.

A baboon-run "ugly humans"-themed blog will inevitably become a reality before long...

One can only hope, Rasmus. There's plenty of material out there...

Sir,

Being the proud simian portrayed in the present picture, I wish to register my explicit displeasure with the unfavorable portrayal given to me and the worthy species with which I share a taxon, on this very weblog.

However, if you must make merry at the expense of your fellow multicellular organisms, I would make a personal request for more soaked kittens.

Regards,
P. Hamadryas.

I will see what I can do, P. Hamadryas. Thank you.

A few thousand more like that and I guess we can start checking whether they really can write Shakespeare.
