I wonder if it's really pee. That particular dobsonfly is a male (big mandibles), which makes me recall the time when I was handling a male Luna moth. It had just eclosed (emerged from cocoon... the dobsonfly appears to have just molted "too"), and it squirted me with some runny white liquid. Me being me, I decided to look at it under the microscope. Turns out it was semen... which is incredibly weird to say the least.
I found a dead body of one in my apartment at the time. I didn't know what was scarier. The way the bug looked at the time with it's nasty pinchers? Or the fact that it had been in my apartment without me even knowing it?
