Bug Cuisine

The good folks over at Time.com are doing their part to help with global food shortages. But theirs is an uphill battle, as they are promoting the eating of insects and their kin as opposed to cows and pigs. Check out this video if you want to see cricket pasta, filleted water bug, and battered scorpion.

Thanks for the article, Michelle. You've ruined my appetite.

Imagine being the first person to see an Alaskan king crab. Would you even contemplate eating that thing? Heck no, you'd run screaming that such a beast inhabits the same planet as you.

And yet... intellectually I get that bugs are not that different from marine crustaceans but I still find this TOTALLY GROSS! :)

Thank you, I rely on this site for my daily dose of shuddering and hissing with loathing. The scorpion stirfry picture delivers.

I believe that I could eat insects if they were ground up and made into patties. Add bread crumbs, seasonings and perhaps onions. Then fry. I would try that.
