Who Could Say No?
Sending roses on Hallmark Valentine's Day is so over done. Instead, I propose sending your sweetheart an Orbea macloughlini. True, you will have to collect it yourself in South Africa, but who could say no to a succulent flower shaped like a seastar (it even has tubercles!), and colored a deep cardiac red, complete with veins of fatty plaque? That is true love. Thanks for the link, Ida.Photo source: Martin Heigan
It's so hard to find good, ugly plants, isn't it? I commend you on your discovery. (Alas, it doesn't seem to be endangered.)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Garfman. You've done admirable work in this field yourself!
ReplyDeleteI heart that plant. I wonder how it smells. I imagine it would smell rotten like those giant Amorphophallus titanum.
ReplyDeleteThat's what i want for Valentine's Day. Veins of fatty plaque. Right on.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteNeato! I wonder how this strategy evolved?
