Reevaluate

You arachnophiles and creepy-crawler-lovers are about to have your hearts melt. Even I, an avowed arachnophobe, find it almost endearing (almost).

Behold a mother giant whip scorpion tending to her brood. Isn't that too much? Look how pearly green they are. Awe, that's so...no...no...must not let my arachnophobia fail me now. I must leave and reevaluate my feelings.

Thanks for the photo, Mary.

They really are great mom's, as far as bugs go.

I have no worries about my arachnophobia failing me.

At first i thought those were aphids. Then I realized they were on a whip scorpion, and my reaction changed from "wtf!?" to "awwww, look at the babies!"

Ah, the legendary motherly instincts of the whip scorpion... Makes the heart sing don't it? ;-p

AWSOME! As if you need any more proof that arachnids and inverts in general get a bad-rap. ;) I've heard that een when the babies spread out a little they stay in "touch" literally, with their whips. I'm sure Jade could confirm or deny this.
