This has got to be one of the strangest photos I've ever seen. I'd give a lot to know what's really going on here...
That's a common posture for lemurs, especially in the morning when they're "warming up" and have their bellies to the sun (I've been at a zoo with a "lemur island," and the whole group is soakin' up the rays).
As for the tongue? I got nothing.
Really. I had no idea they sat like this. Maybe the tongue issue was just one of those embarrassing, split second things caught by the camera. Most of the photos taken of me resemble this in one form or another...
We fed a buffalo in Utah, you should definetly put a picture of one of their tongues on here.
I just want some of whatevah that lemur is on. ;)
Maybe he was indulging in millipede poison.
