Phlimm sent in this screenshot of a giant snail he came across on YouTube (see video below).
This mollusk can get to almost 8 inches in size. I know for a lot of you boys out there, your first thought was "how much salt?... how much bubbling?..." You're sick, I say. Sick. But I understand.
My first thought centered around placing it on my sisters' pillows. But that was years ago. I'll have to let out my bullying impulses on my daughters.
Thanks for the abomination, Phlimm.
Awww! I want one as a pet! I'd name him Hephaestus and keep him in my compost bin and feed him salad scraps. I bet the, ahem, end results would make GREAT compost...

That's amazing! I used to have snails as pets but they never got that big.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
A little garlic, some butter, some wine ... but not much salt.
ReplyDeleteTragically, giant snails are illegal to have in the U.S., since they are incredibly invasive. Read about it here.
ReplyDeleteBut they would be the awesomest escargot ever!
That is some excitin', rip-snortin' video!
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know Swintah because that is one big beautiful beast. I'd love one but knowing how easily most mollusks reproduce, it's likely not wise here in N.A.
ReplyDeleteStill, that would feel SO cool to have one slide over your skin like that. I've had a large banana slug on my hand but nothing quite THAT big.
