Centurio senex - the wrinkly face bat - is one of the ugliest creatures on the planet. Bats in general make for great subject matter for this blog, but the problem I have is finding a good repository of bat images. Anyone know of any?
I could use a lot more like the one below. Can you imagine looking up into your tree and see these things staring down at you? You would never venture outside again.

You might try Bat Conservation International, http://www.batcon.org/home/default.asp
Its founder, Merlin K. Tuttle, has been taking wonderful photos of bats for years; since the goal of BCI is the protection of bats, the photos try to make them as attractive a possible, but sometimes it's just like trying to put a miniskirt on a baboon...
Now that is a good site - thanks for the link, and for the disturbing image of a baboon dressed in a mini-skirt ...
Them are the ugliest bats I have ever seen ewwww!!!
