Die Devil Bat!

Wow, wow, WOW! I don't know that it is possible to find a mammal with a face as ugly as this wrinkle-faced bat (that's a challenge to all of you!). The beady eyes, the big ears, the wrinkly face, the needle teeth, the flaps of skin across its forehead, the deformed nose, the tongue sticking out ... the one good thing out of all of this is that these creatures (centurio senex) are tiny.

I know bats have a special following among some animal lovers. Why?
