Molt

Okay, okay. This technically isn't an animal. But it is the molted shell of one. And it is ugly. It qualifies. I believe it once belonged to a cicada. Anyone care to identify it? Any entomologists at hand?

    Not an expert or anything, but I'm 90% sure that's a cicada shell. Lived in West Virginia a few years and every summer you'd see these hooked on to the trees in the dozens. Used to clip a bunch of them on to my shirt when I was a kid. :p
