Japanese Salamander

Behold the Giant Japanese Salamander. These ugly amphibians grow to a length of 1.5 meters - over four and a half feet! That is quite a bundle of slimy, warty ugly. But, this creature is only the second largest salamander in the world. Which is the largest? Wait and find out.

Supposedly, these creatures are harmless. But, if looks could kill ...

    Have you ever been swimming in a pond in Okinawa,and then just as you were coming up for a breath of cherry blossom-scented air, been confronted by one in your face? Then you might think they are ugly.
