Apparently some can get as long as 100 ft in case of the ribbon worm or proboscis worm. Oh, and lovely, lovely, most are also predators.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20146619.post-62517095454490440142008-03-23T10:00:00.000-07:002008-03-23T10:00:00.000-07:00Attack of the giant stretchy tube-sock?Attack of the giant stretchy tube-sock?Jack Ruttanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11202365155540203592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20146619.post-40740734035122857862008-03-20T11:36:00.000-07:002008-03-20T11:36:00.000-07:00Ramus beat me to the punch. But then, I've never been out of the low intertidal.

On the gross front - there's a species of this worm that's affectionately called, "sea snot," by those of us fond of marine inverts. :)

The species - no idea. You'd likely have to dissect the head to find out. Any volunteers? lolArachnophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07410631872057592006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20146619.post-30786983402434253302008-03-19T19:58:00.000-07:002008-03-19T19:58:00.000-07:00i don't think its that gross. weird, definitely, b...i don't think its that gross. weird, definitely, but not gross. looks like some kind of eel, the way it frills up on its sides where they brush the ground. er, sea floor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20146619.post-82280697011540301722008-03-19T18:24:00.000-07:002008-03-19T18:24:00.000-07:00Where I come from, "worms" are things you dig up a...Where I come from, "worms" are things you dig up and hook fish with.
